Meet Our Team

Meet our Goebel Family Dentistry professional team. They will work hard to make your visit with us comfortable and pleasant.

Shawn

Shawn is a dental hygienist. She received her dental hygiene degree from Lakeland College. She feels fortunate to practice her dream profession and help her patients achieve optimum oral health. “I love to see how advanced dentistry has become. Our patients are the best, and we welcome the friends and family members referred by them.”

She and her husband, Gary, have three wonderful children (Jenny, Phillip, and Tiffany) and nine beautiful grandchildren. They also have two fur babies, Duke and Ella, that are a big part of their family. In her free time, she loves camping and boating with family and friends.

 

Jenny

Jenny earned her degree in dental hygiene from Illinois Central College in 2001. She then became a full-time hygienist with Dr. Gary Goebel, who is now retired, and now Dr. Tom Goebel. “Helping others and sharing knowledge has always been my focus. I’m passionate about the prevention of dental disease leading to an improved overall quality of life. I enjoy the professional yet fun working environment at Goebel Family Dentistry.”

She is married with one child. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, her Cocker Spaniel, and running outdoors with the corn belt running club whenever she can!

 

Darcy

Darcy is a dental hygienist and received her dental education from Hawkeye Community College and has her B.A. from the University of Northern Iowa. “I am very passionate about helping patients maintain their dental health. The best part about my job is the patients. It is so fulfilling to develop relationships with each of them.”

She and her husband John have 2 very active children, Kailee and Mason. She has a cat named Curry and a dog, Harper. She enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends, and taking vacations.

 

 

Wendy

Wendy is a dental assistant and grew up in Silvis. She received her dental education at Black Hawk College. She worked for Dr. Herzfeldt for 23 years and transitioned into the Goebel Family Dentistry team after Dr. Herzfeldt retired. “The best part of my job is getting to know the patients.”

She and her husband Kevin have two girls, Alena and Hannah. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking with her dog, Miley, reading, and traveling in her spare time.

 

 

Mayra

Mayra is our Office Manager/ Dental assistant. She received her dental education from Western Career College in Antioch, CA. She worked for Dr. Richard Herzfeldt for 7 years and transitioned to Goebel Family Dentistry’s wonderful team after Dr. Herzfeldt retired. “The best part of my job is making a difference in our patient’s dental health and transforming their smiles. Helping patients is so fulfilling.”

Mayra grew up in East Moline. She and her husband, Ricardo, have three amazing kids, Aaron, Dante and Anahi. She enjoys spending time with family and outdoor activities, including taking her dog, Toby, for long walks. She also enjoys reading, gardening, painting, and traveling.

Alysia

Alysia is our delightful appointment coordinator. She has been here since 2021. A Quad City native from the Illinois side, Alysia is a graduate of Scott Community College. She loves coming to work every day, not just because of the fantastic view of the river, but also because it is a fun environment and “our patients are so sweet.”

When she isn’t working, Alysia enjoys binge watching TV shows and movies, as well as baking. A self-proclaimed plantswoman, she has a special interest in gems and strolling through antique shops.

 

Mariana

Mariana has been a dental assistant for several years. She always enjoyed health care and decided to make a career out of it. She gets particular satisfaction through the privilege and joy of positively transforming a patient’s life by restoring their oral health. She loves knowing someone is going to walk out of the office more confident.

When Mariana isn’t working, she loves spending time with her wonderful partner and three children, which includes two girls and one boy. They also have three dogs and a cat, who keep them on their toes.

 

Nicole

Nicole has been a dental assistant since 2004. She graduated from Milwaukee Area Technical College for Dental Assisting. Nicole’s favorite part about her job is when a patient comes in very self conscious about their smile, but after work is completed you get to see the confidence on their face when they leave.

She grew up in southeast Wisconsin, but moved to Quad Cities in 2012 with her husband who is a native of the area. They’ve been a couple since 2005, married in 2019, and have a cat named Peanut. When she’s not working, Nicole enjoys to work on puzzles and binge watch TV shows.

 

Keri

Keri is a graduate of the Dental Hygiene School in Colorado. She’s worked as a dental hygienist since 2004. Prior to that she spent five years as a dental assistant. Her favorite part of her job is the relationships she develops with patients and the team.

Keri loves living in this area, especially her church home and close friends. She and her husband, Patrick, have been married since 2006 and have a kitty named Brantley.

 

Amanda

Amanda graduated from the Dental Hygiene program at Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg in 2011. She and her husband, Vince, attended Rockridge High School and moved to Reynolds after college. They have three children. Jaxon is their oldest, then four years later they had 2 year old twins Colson & Carli.

When she’s not working, Amanda enjoys traveling, spending time with her kids, cooking, and is a huge Harry Potter fan. Her favorite thing about her dental hygiene career has been those “Aha!” moments her patients have. She loves working with them to help make their smile amazing.

 

Jen

Jen is our treatment coordinator and front desk entertainer! With her background in dental assisting, she understands a patient’s dental anxiety and makes every attempt to ease their mind. She and her husband met in their backyards 30 years ago and have been inseparable ever since. They have two sons, along with a rescue pup and a frisbee lab. On her off time, you’ll find her relaxing outdoors with the family.

 

Moni

Moni is a dental hygienist who studied at Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg. She was born and raised in a small town in Guanajuato, Mexico and moved to Moline in 2008.

Growing up, the first thing she noticed about someone was their smile. Moni has always been passionate about helping people feel more comfortable with their own smiles.

When she’s not working, Moni enjoys reading and collecting books, listening to music, spending time with her cats, her boyfriend, as well as her friends and family. When the weather is nice, she enjoys going on walks and hikes.
