Meet Dr. Ben Marine

Education and Experience

Dr. Ben Marine graduated from Orion High School in 2006. He then graduated from Augustana College in 2010 with a BA in Biology and Business Management. From there, he continued his studies at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine, and received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 2014.

Since graduating from dental school, Dr. Marine has had a wide variety of dental experiences. From working on a community outreach mobile clinic in the south and west side neighborhoods of Chicago to an advanced high-tech office in Arlington Heights, IL, to spending the last 6 years as an owner/dentist at Parkway View Family Dentistry in Moline.

Treatment Philosophy

At every visit, my goal with each patient is for them to walk away feeling comfortable and having a better comprehensive understanding of their dental health. I feel that part of my job is educating patients to help them understand what dental issues may be present, and what treatment options I can offer to best address those issues and each patient’s personal goals for their dental health. I strive with each patient’s treatment to select the most minimally invasive treatment with the goal of preserving the maximum amount of natural tooth structure. We accomplish this by using advanced imaging and the most up-to-date dental technology, utilizing a team of exceptional local specialists, and keeping current on the most pertinent continuing education.

When I reflect on why I wanted to become a dentist and move back to the Quad Cities, I always come back to the people. I want to build a strong relationship with each patient based on trust and comfort, and be a resource for your entire family. Ultimately, dentistry is about what is best for the patient and my core value is doing everything I can to benefit you, the patient.

Personal

Growing up in the Quad Cities, I was exposed to the world of dentistry at an early age. I enjoyed spending time in my father’s orthodontic office in Moline, where he practiced for nearly 30 years. Seeing the relationships he formed with patients and families over the years instilled in me what being a dentist in the community was all about. My mother was a teacher for many years in Geneseo and Orion, which inspired my pursuit of advanced education. I now live in Coal Valley with my wife Lora, an orthodontist, who took over in my father’s practice upon his retirement, and our two daughters Isabelle (4) and Eliza (2). Outside of enjoying family time you can find me traveling in search of good food, relaxing by a pool, or if I’m lucky, skiing.
